There are satellites passing overhead on a constant basis.

The data is collected by receiving stations and then sent to servers in real time.

There is two types High and low resolution.

As the data is collected it is stored in servers ready for collection by scientific communities etc

The data is received from the servers within 30 minutes of the pass over. All data is in raw format.

The file  is then taken through a process of stripping out all data that is not applicable to our needs etc ground and atmospheric data. We are only interested in the thermal bands over ocean.

Adjustments are then made for the range of temperature needed in the area of interest.

The maps are then rectified into Mercator and saved.

The next process is creating the map format before generating the areas.

This process takes between 35 minutes and 40 minutes before it is passed onto cloud servers.

Drop Box is a widely used throughout the world for digital storage and trusted.

It is free within certain limits.

Cloud servers work like a personal server which is connected to all your devices so when you take a photo or save a document it takes care of this in the background.

How it works with oceanEyE Maps?

Once subscribed you are invited into a directory within Drop Box which holds all of the maps.

Now you have your own shared server to which as the maps process they load to the server (Drop Box)

Access to the Maps are through the apps.

You never have to visit a web page to download maps again you can be anywhere all you need to do is open your app and the maps can be accessed.

OceanEye  will control the amount of data in your server, so you never need to worry about holding data cleaning out unwanted maps.

We only keep 3 days of maps.

Now you have your own server Drop Box.

All devices you have update.

With your personal Drop Box account there are options to create personal fishing folders
